The primary challenge faced during the project was to develop a mobile app that could effectively handle guest requests for pickups and deliveries. The app needed to be user-friendly, allow guests to easily create accounts, set up billing, and request pickups from a locker. Additionally, the app needed to integrate with existing hardware such as the lockers and drivers' devices to ensure that pickups and deliveries were executed efficiently. My team worked closely with the Tide Cleaners business stakeholders and users to understand their requirements and develop a mobile app solution that addressed multi-location and user type needs. The app was designed with a simple and user-friendly interface, allowing guests to easily navigate through the different features. Guests could create accounts by entering their information, such as name, address, and payment details. The app also allowed guests to select the location of the locker where they wanted their laundry to be picked up and delivered. Once a guest placed a request for pickup, a driver would receive the request, drive to the locker, pick up the laundry, and drive it to a plant to be cleaned. Once the garments were cleaned, they would be returned to the guest's locker for pick up.
The Tide Cleaners Guest app was successfully implemented, and it had a significant impact on the company's operations and customer experience. The app helped to streamline the laundry service, resulting in faster turnaround times, increased efficiency, and improved accuracy in tracking the laundry. The app also enhanced the customer experience, making it easier for guests to request pickups and deliveries and receive real-time updates on the status of their laundry.
